I accept commissions on a very limited basis and only if I feel they fit into my current style and portfolio of work. As of now I only commissions of a floral or abstract subject matter. Once you let me know the size you want and we agree on a timeline I require a 50% non-refundable deposit before the work begins. The balance is due before shipping or delivery. It takes approximately 6-8 weeks for completion.

You should let me know in as much detail as possible your vision for your project and once we agree upon subject matter and the deposit is received, I can begin. I will send you a photo and video once I have finished and I will allow you the opportunity to suggest any changes you would like to see. I will do ONE round of edits.

To help make the process run more smoothly I have included some tips for commissioning artwork below but please reach out to me with any questions or concerns you have.

If there is a certain size you need that is not listed, please let me know and I can find a canvas as close to your measurements as possible and let you know the price. Unless otherwise noted, all prices include shipping or local delivery.

Tips on commissioning artwork

  • Before selecting an artist, look through their portfolio. All artists cannot paint all subject matters. You want to pick an artist because you love their unique work and style not just because you need a piece of art in a certain size etc. If you truly love the artist you are commissioning, you should be as open to their interpretation as possible. This will give you the best results. Allowing the artist to create with few parameters involved can produce the most extraordinary & unique piece.
  • If you do have certain wants or expectations, provide as much detail as possible about the piece you want. An artist can’t read your mind and has no way of knowing your thoughts unless you communicate them. Providing reference images is a great way to communicate what you are looking for. I encourage my clients to send me images of paintings they like and tell me why. Is it because of the color palette or the brush marks? Do you prefer more minimalist paintings with lots of negative space or do you prefer busier paintings with lots of movement and smaller brush marks? If the piece will be for a certain area of your home, provide the artist with an idea of the style so they can understand how this piece with fits with your aesthetic.
  • While I do encourage sending photos of paintings you like, please know that I cannot replicate any painting exactly, even my own. You can use other artists’ paintings as inspiration and to help visually explain the look you are going for, but I cannot duplicate another artists’ work. Because all of my paintings have so many layers, I can create something similar but an exact replica is not possible.
  • When giving me feedback from viewing a progress photo please do not hold back any of your opinions. Sometimes it is difficult to explain what you want until you see it. The more feedback you can give me, the more I can understand your vision. Art is very personal and appeals to individuals in different ways- any negative feedback you give me will not be taken personally! I promise.
  • I only offer one round of edits per commission. This will allow me to keep my artistic style and creativity intact and will prevent overworking the painting. When you receive the photo and video of your piece take your time and sit with it for a while. This will allow you to think about what you want and spot more than one thing you want to change. Turning the photo around to view the painting from different angles can help. Show what you mean when you want a change. Artists are usually visual thinkers, so highlight areas you're not sure about. Edit the photo by circling the areas you are referencing. Send color swatches if the colors are different than you expected.
